Tattoo Aftercare

Following this aftercare is the best way to help prevent infections and make your new tattoo look great for years to come.

Keep the area wrapped for the next 2-4 hours after getting tattooed.

Wash hands thoroughly before touching your tattoo.

Remove the cling film and gently wash with warm running water. DO NOT SOAK.

Gently pat dry with paper towels or kitchen roll. Do not rub.

Allow 20 more minutes for the tattoo to air dry.

Apply a tiny amount of whichever cream or moisturiser was recommended by your artist, usually Bepanthen, to the tattoo and surrounding area. Less is more, make sure there is no excess cream left on the surface of the tattoo.

Repeat this process three to four times a day for the next two weeks. You will notice in approximately 1-2 weeks that the tattoo is starting to itch and flake.

DO NOT PICK OR SCRATCH AS IT CAN DAMAGE THE TATTOO.

For the next two weeks do not: Pick or scratch the tattoo Soak the tattoo.

Take showers, not baths and try to keep them short.

No swimming/hot tubs/saunas/steam rooms.

No sunbathing, sun beds and no fake tan.

Once the tattoo is completely healed, we recommend applying factor 50 sunblock to area in sunlight to keep the tattoo from ageing.

Regularly moisturising your tattoos can also keep them looking brighter and reduce ageing.
